Shawn Engbretson Member. It's funny how people say alot of the mines only have a 1 or two veins. Are you guys not looking good enough? I always find veins in every Mine I go into. They aren't very friendly but they wont attack you unless you steal they're tools or something. You can take all the ebony you want.

The type of ingots a smith stocks seem to be based on character level. Blackreach has a few Ebony viens, there are two at the throat of the World, there is always Gloombound Mine and Shor's Stone. Whiterun, Solitude, Riften. But you have to be a high enough level first. Just like they won't sell you ebony weapons until your level is high enough.

There are places to mine it though.
