Which writer are you most like

Kellie McGann. She partners with leaders to help tell their stories in book form. On the weekends, she writes poetry and prose. She contributes to The Write Practice every other Wednesday. Say Yes to Practice. I'M IN! The Practicing Community. I just like to read, period; not necessarily for writing inspiration.

Who do you wish would critique your writing? JK Rowling. Her insight into fiction is invaluable. Robert Bly. What is the purpose of your writing? To evoke an emotion in my audience — to connect with them. To promote myself while providing valuable information for my readers. To make money. I prefer reading, to be honest. Grammatical errors. Black, black, black as my soul…. In on the banks of the river Seine. How do you write? In a cheap exercise book. On my typewriter in an attic. In a handmade journal.

Fountain pen. How do you spend Friday night? Chained to my desk. Working at the local Pizza Palace. Out with my friends, gathering research. At a baroque chamber orchestra concert.

Seeking the kernel of human understanding. At the movies, blockbuster time! What inspires you? The NYT bestseller list. Iron Man 3. The works of William Shakespeare. My typewriter, cigarettes, bottle of wine. How much do you write each day? Like Dostoyevsky I focus on quality, not quantity. What the muse tells me. My research is coming along swimmingly. As much as I can fit in between my 3 jobs.

Where do you holiday? Meditation retreat.
